About the Artist

Karson George

For as long as I can remember, I've enjoyed forming pictures of various things in my head when looking at the stars at night. I'd pick a star, or sometimes a wide area of the sky, and think about what could be out there, waiting to be discovered. My thoughts led me to anything from natural formations, such as star systems and their planets, to spacefaring technology, such as stations and spacecraft. As I continued thinking about all of these places, I started clumping these thoughts together and drawing them; this was the start of my life as an artist.

Through middle school and into high school, I began to do some basic sketches and tracing, but it was at Tulsa Tech's animation program that I began to further develop my ability to draw in a professional setting. I learned a lot about everything from basic perspective to the Adobe software suite and Autodesk 3DS Max, and I applied this knowledge in my studies at John Brown University.

While I was at college, I spent some time working as a teaching assistant for the 3D Modeling class there.  I love learning new skills and enjoy showing others how to apply them as well, and being able to unite that with my growing passion for 3D Modeling has been an amazing experience. Now, as I prepare for work in the industry, I hope to bring that energy with me and look forward to learning more about the software and modeling techniques used there.

As an artist, I enjoy using my skills to bring scenes to life. With every concept drawing that I make, I help to give more depth to the world I'm building in, and with each object I build, I add structure to the scene around it. This helps to give foundation to the scene, allowing the finished project to more effectively tell its story.
